About
Matt Jenson - I'm an autistic creative artist who has been writing, illustrating, and creating theatre for children for over twenty years.
As a Master Teaching Artist at the Children’s Theatre Company in Minneapolis, Minnesota, I created many plays, musicals, stories, illustrations, and puppets.
As the Director of Arts Programming at the Minnesota Association for Children’s Mental Health, I wrote, directed, and designed Fidgety Fairy Tales - The Mental Health Musicals, Star Power and Friends, and other projects.
I hold a BFA in Dance from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. In addition to presenting my choreography in Minnesota and New York, one of my favorite dance experiences was playing Madame Bonbonnierre annually in Minnesota Dance Theatre's production of the Nutcracker.
My creative work has been supported by fellowships and grants from the McKnight Foundation, Minnesota State Arts Board, Jerome Foundation, and Metropolitan Regional Arts Council.
I live in St. Paul, MN, with my husband, Paul. We enjoy walking around lakes, gardening, and going to art festivals. I have one amazing grown son who lives nearby who can tell you anything you'd want to know about comic books.
